Where do we start? During our initial intake, we’ll do some talking and some moving. This first meet-up helps me learn what you're looking for, and gives you a chance to get to know me before your first workout. This consultation is free.
In this conversation, I'm most interested in hearing about your goals. People want more movement in their lives for lots of different reasons; I won't assume what yours are until you tell me.
Movement screen: After we talk, I'll perform a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to help me figure out where we can focus our work to have the greatest impact on the quality of your movement.
At the end of our consultation, we'll decide together how to move forward.
Personal training sessions: Sessions start with a warmup. Then, most of our time will focus on exercises to build strength, increase endurance, or correct issues we found in the FMS screen — depending on your goals. We'll end with a cool-down.
During sessions, it's important to me that you understand why we're doing what we're doing. Questions are welcome. I also want to work with you to find exercises you enjoy, so I encourage you to let me know how it's going.
Each session will build on the previous one: not only will you get stronger and feel more confident in the movement, but I'll get to know your preferences and areas where our work can have the most impact.
Where do we train? I train out of a fitness studio in my home in South Minneapolis. The studio is down one flight of stairs.
